Minute Muse – although she exemplifies an inspirational yet archaic symbol, the Muse has finally flittered (and twittered) her way into the 21th Century.

I started the Minute Muse site a few months ago as not only a creative outlet for myself, but also as a funnel for the increasingly amount of personal emails I’d receive for quick random ideas and pleas for creative “dream job”-seeking tips. (Yes, there is a difference!) So, I thought a question-and-answer site with a promised turnaround time was a good idea. We’ll see if it gains any momentum with my new emergence into the blog world! You can also follow me on Twitter (MinuteMuse).

My friends and colleagues have been prompting me to connect my real-life identity to my site, so I have decided to blur the lines between the two, so here goes…the Minute Muse is…(harp roll?) Sorry, I should wait til I have a following before busting out the really cheesy material. I will stick to my notes from this morning in the meantime – promise!

The obligatory BIO: As “STORM BREWER” aka Event Director of Create Chaos 2008, Katrina Priore has helped establish the “super-conference” from the ground up with strategic partnership development and positioning, advertising/media sponsorship coordination, and overall logistics assistance. Previously the Assistant Publisher of Create Magazine, the award-winning magazine for creative professionals; as well as the Partner Relations Manager for Create Communications, Priore fostered and maintained strategic relationships and promotional campaigns for many initiatives including the Create Awards; The Create Network; the Create Member Discounts; and special annual print showcases. She also coordinated media sponsorships for literally hundreds of tradeshows/events across the country. Priore is very involved in Central Florida professional organizations including the AAF-O / Ad2 Orlando where she has held several board positions; the Rock for Hunger Charity Planning Committee; and most recently founding member of the new Doterati organization, connecting marketing and tech professionals both online and offline.

Sometimes I feel I have a seemingly endless stream of ideas, (however crazy they may seem) but I credit it to the inspirational and incredible people I surround my life with. For example, I found myself deeply inspired today, for the first time in quite a while. I attended the Izeafest, listened to some of most respected bloggers and site owners in existence (Copyblogger, internetgeekgirl, Mashable’s Tamar Weinberg, to name a few) and discovered my own hunger for writing was revitalized by lunchtime. A previous author of diaries, poem journals, novels that couldn’t choose an ending, etc., I realized I could write again without the pressure and deadlines put upon myself.

There will be creatively relevant news. There will be deliciously juicy related gossip. And let’s face it, sometimes even Muses like to rant. Expect all of the above, with the classic Katrina randomness I hope you all grow to know and love. Or tolerate enough to pass on to your friends at least.

So, without further ado…welcome to the Minute Muse Blog! Feel free to post comments, and of course, ask me questions you would normally ask on the site that don’t need to be anonymous, so others can see the responses (and provide their own feedback/insights).

Happy Musing!
